About Meridian Decision Media
We publish ten specialist brands for high-stakes, low-frequency decisions — and we tell you exactly how we make money doing it.
Meridian Decision Media is an independent digital publisher. Each of our ten brands has its own editors, its own expert reviewers and its own remit. We are funded by advertising, affiliate commissions, lead generation and newsletter sponsorship. None of those relationships can change a ranking.
Why we exist
The internet is well supplied with content about decisions people make weekly, and badly supplied with content about decisions people make once every five years. Choosing a workers' compensation policy, refinancing a mortgage, sizing a heat pump, selecting a health plan for a family, deciding whether a $16,000 bootcamp pays back — these are searched by people who are anxious, time-poor and out of their depth. They are also, not coincidentally, the highest-value advertising categories on the web, which attracts a lot of thin content.
Our answer is narrow brands with deep coverage: a publication that only does small-business insurance can afford to build a real cost model, interview underwriters, and re-check pricing quarterly. A generalist site cannot.
Editorial independence
Commercial and editorial staff are separated. Commercial staff do not see rankings before publication and cannot request changes to them. Advertisers cannot buy a position, a badge or a favourable adjective. Where a relationship exists, the page says so at the top, not in an unreadable footer.
How the network is structured
Each brand is operationally independent: its own editor, its own reviewers, its own topical map, its own tools and its own newsletter. Shared across the network are our standards (sourcing, review, corrections), our design system, and our legal and privacy infrastructure.
Brands link to each other only when the reader's next decision genuinely belongs to another brand, and only from the specific article where that is true. We do not run reciprocal sitewide links.
Our people
Every article carries a named author. Every page in a YMYL category — money, health, law, insurance — is reviewed by a practitioner with a verifiable credential, named on the brand's about page. We do not invent credentials, buy bylines, or attach a stock photo to an imaginary expert.
On AI
We use AI tools the way we use a spreadsheet: for outlining, organising research, summarising documents and catching clumsy sentences. We do not mass-produce machine-written articles, and a named human is accountable for every published page. This mirrors the substance of Google's guidance on AI-generated content: what matters is whether the content is helpful, original and reliable — not who typed the first draft.
Corrections
Errors are corrected quickly and visibly, with a dated note on the page. Reach any brand's editor through its contact page, or email the network at editors@metax.academy.
How we handle numbers
Where a statistic, rule or price matters to a decision, we cite the official source — the regulator, tax authority, carrier filing or vendor price page — so you can check it yourself and see how current it is. Figures inside worked examples and calculators are illustrative inputs chosen to show the method, not quotes: your own numbers will differ, which is why the calculators let you enter them. We do not present an estimate as research, and we date every page so you can judge whether it has kept up with the rules.
